( Sewell , NJ ) —Gloucester County Board of Commissioners in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation will host “Picklenic , ” a special event for pickleball players .
   “Pickleball is taking over as the fasting growing sport in America . Atkinson Park is home to six gorgeous pickleball courts and they have been put to great use since we unveiled them , ” said Director Frank J . DiMarco .
   The Picklenic will be held of Saturday , May 14 at 9 a . m . at James G . Atkinson Park . Tennis courts will be converted into additional pickleball courts . There will be 14 courts available and attendees are encouraged to sign up prior to the event .

   “This event is a way for us to continue to foster the great community that has come from opening Pickleball courts at Atkinson Park , ” said Commissioner Jim Jefferson . “We encourage individuals interested in learning to play pickleball to stop by and watch the games . Everyone is very helpful and willing to teach new players . ”
   Picklenic will be full of fun and feature prizes , giveaways , trophies for winners and ice cream for all .
