Is it just us , or is finding a time capsule on
everybody ' s dream list?
It’s even more exciting when a piece of yourhistory is included!
A time capsule from 1951 was recently discovered in a wall cavity of the Johnson County Courthouse
during its demolition . In it they found letters and newspapers from variouscities along with photographs , a newspaper microfilm reel , and area event brochures .
Big shout out to the
Johnson County Museum for getting us a sneak peek of the De Soto items! Whilethe City of De Soto letter will be opened with the other letters ( after paper
conservators can inspect their condition ) , the newspaper here is jam packed .
