Pierre South Dakota - Intersection Closure Elizabeth and Northstar 20 May 2022 ( news )

   Intersection Closure: Elizabeth and Northstar
   Weather pending , the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Northstar Avenue will close Monday , May 23 .
   The City Street Department will rebuild the intersection; it will then be paved by Morris , Inc .  The intersection is expected to reopen by the end of the month .
   During construction , motorists should detour to Crested Avenue .
   The city maintains 80 miles of streets , more than 100 miles of water main , and more than 60 miles of sanitary sewer . Each year , city staff assess the streets , in addition to utilities , sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects .
