The City of West Fargo water division began a hydrant flushing project Monday , June 6 , 2022 . Crews will flush hydrants starting at the south City of West Fargo boundary and move north . Work will last for 14 days . Flushing will begin at 7:30 a . m . and end around 4 p . m . There will be minimal impacts on traffic during this project .  
   Residents may notice water discoloration during the flushing . In that case , run cold water through the faucet until the water runs clear . If water clarity does not improve , please contact Public Works at ( 701 ) 515 - 5400 .  
   Hydrant flushing cleans out large sections of the water system to make sure hydrants and water distribution is working properly . The work goes in a south to north schedule to ensure the entire system is clear .
