BATON ROUGE , LA — December 29 , 2023 — 
   City - Parish offices will be closed on January 1
   stin observance of the New Year’s holiday . There will be no curbside garbage , recycling or out - of - cart services on New Year’s Day . Garbage and recycling collection will resume on the residents’ next regularly scheduled collection day . Out - of - cart services for residents with Monday collection will be serviced on Saturday , December 30

   In addition , the North Landfill will be closed on New Year’s Day . The Republic Services recycling drop - off center , located at 7933 Tom Drive , operates 24 hours a day , seven days a week , and will continue to accept recyclables during the holidays .
   BREC is accepting Christmas trees at various locations for recycling . More information can be found on their website at
