The City of Radford is looking for a FT GIS Coordinator. The GIS Coordinator will perform highly responsible and technical duties in the maintenance and coordination of the City’s Geographic Information System including software installation and maintenance, management of GIS users and creating and maintaining GIS data. The successful candidate will create, edit and maintain accurate and up-to-date GIS data; install and maintain system-related software in accordance to policy; implement and manage GIS projects for the departments of Public Works, Electric, 911, Engineering and the Commissioner of Revenue. The GIS Coordinator will create GIS maps for all departments’ special projects and specific needs; provide quarterly updates of Radford data to the state GIS data clearinghouse and create and maintain web and mobile maps and apps for the dissemination of public information. This position must have the ability to work closely with local real estate agents project planners and citizens to supply data appropriate to their needs along with working closely with the City’s Engineering Department and Commissioner of Revenue Department to maintain current real estate and tax records. This position requires strong writing and communication skills; proficient use of ERSI ArcMAP and/or ArcGIS Pro; knowledge of Trimble PathFinder software and knowledge of Python and JavaScript. The GIS Coordinator must have the ability to analyze data using ERSI suite of software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SOL and GPS Software. The GIS Coordinator is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibrations, atmospheric conditions and hazards where personal protective equipment may be necessary.
