A business located on Somerset . St was the victim of a burglary during the early morning hours . A white or Hispanic male broke the front door with a hammer to gain entry . Once inside , the suspect stole a cash register , which contained $100 . 00 . The cash register was valued at $2 , 000 . 00 and the door was valued at $1 , 400 . 00 .
A Miller Place , NY resident was the victim of a burglary during the overnight hours at a local hotel . The unknown suspect ( s ) smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole various parts rendering the vehicle inoperable . The damage was estimated at $5 , 000 . 00 .

A Toms River , NJ business was the victim of a theft between 08/01/23 and 01/22/24 at business located on Easton Ave . The unknown suspect ( s ) damaged a cooking oil tank to remove its contents . The stolen cooking oil was valued at $700 . 00 , and a replacement tank was valued at $1 , 500 . 00 .

A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of a motor vehicle theft during the morning hours in the area of Kingsbridge Rd . The unknown suspect ( s ) stole the victim’s vehicle while it was warming up outside of her residence . The vehicle was later recovered , unoccupied , in an outside jurisdiction .
Joshua W . McMillan , 32 , of New Brunswick , NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of the Somerset County Sherriff’s Office during a motor vehicle stop . McMillan was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail .

A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the afternoon hours in the area of Cornelius Way . The unknown suspect pulled up to the victim’s mailbox in a gray 4 door sedan and removed mail waiting to be picked up by the USPS . The mail contained two greeting cards valued at $10 . 00 .

A business located on Rt . 27 was the victim of a shoplifting during the evening hours . A black male attempted to exit the store with unpaid merchandise valued at $136 . 00 . Loss prevention confronted the suspect , and he dropped the items and fled . Patrol was able to positively identify the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage .

A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the evening of 01/24/24 in the area of Home St . The unknown suspect ( s ) stole the victim’s unsecured bike off of his front porch . The bike was valued at $350 . 00 .
A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of a theft between 01/24/24 and 01/25/24 in the area of Camner Ave . The unknown suspect ( s ) stole the victim’s delivered package from an apartment lobby . The contents were valued at $400 . 00 .
Sharisse Lopez , 42 , of New Brunswick , NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction . Lopez was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail .

A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the overnight hours in the area of De Leon Cir . The unknown suspect ( s ) stole a license plate off of the victim’s vehicle .
Two stolen motor vehicles were recovered by patrol in the area of Oak Pl . during the afternoon hours . The ignition and door locks were damaged on both vehicles . The vehicles were unoccupied , and the suspect ( s ) is unknown . The reporting jurisdiction was notified of the recovery .

A Somerset , NJ resident was the victim of an attempted burglary during the morning hours in the area of Easton Ave . Two males , one black and one white , were observed tampering with the victim’s vehicle . The suspects damaged the door handle but never made entry . The repair was estimated to cost $500 . 00 .
