Williamson County Government Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications for a full-time External Affairs Officer. Applicants should possess the ability to work independently on the development of preparedness education programs, social media and website content, and other community readiness activities. Experience or ability to serve as Public Information Officer in an emergency situation is expected. The ideal applicant will have experience in both media information management as well as emergency services or emergency management including computer skills, word processing, and office software programs, as well as excellent writing and editing skills.
Additionally, the successful applicant will be on call and expected to work in the Emergency Operations Center, Joint Information Center and Incident Command Posts in a variety of roles including but not limited to public information officer, emergency information director, field media spokesperson and others. Candidates should have excellent communication, team collaboration and organizational skills.
A Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of experience (on a year for year basis) in related field is preferred.
Salary range is $$41,433.60- $51,812.80 annually based on education & experience.
