On May 16 , 2022 , Washington Township dedicated the Washington Township RecPlex West building in memory of Joyce C . Young , former Township Trustee .
   Joyce was a remarkable woman and a champion for Township residents . She was proud to call Washington Township her home and she worked hard to create a thriving community that would last for many generations . As a strong proponent of the impact of local government , she was always encouraging those around her to get involved and her name was synonymous with community volunteerism and leadership .
   Through Joyce’s many important contributions , we now ensure that her legacy will have an enduring significance for all who visit the RecPlex West building .
