The CITY OF SHOW LOW announces recruitment for the position of Engineering Technician.
The City of Show Low, regional hub of the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona, is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and innovative professional to join our community as its next Engineering Technician.
The Engineering Technician position is an integral part of the Engineering Division reporting to the City Engineer. Strong experience in civil engineering drafting, design, mapping and records, and survey work is a must. The successful candidate will have the ability to prepare difficult or complex civil engineering drawings using the methods, techniques, and instruments of drafting; perform algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric calculations associated with the reduction of field survey notes, calculate grades, areas, and volumes; write and interpret legal descriptions; research property records and technical documents; prepare quantity take-offs; perform survey duties related to the design of public works projects and the mapping of the city.
The ideal candidate shall possess an associates degree in engineering, technical computer aided-drafting, land surveying or a related field relative to area of assignment; and, three years of experience performing engineering technician and drafting work including experience with computer assisted drafting, or surveying, and operating survey instruments; project coordination; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD design software is also required.
