Downtown Stevens Point’s Business Improvement District will host staff from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp . ’s ( WEDC ) Main Street program February 5 - 7 to thoroughly review Downtown for opportunities to improve the district .
To prepare for the visit , the Downtown Business Improvement District is requesting input from Stevens Point residents , Downtown business owners , and Downtown property owners by completing a survey before January 29 , 2024 .
2024 Downtown Stevens Point Survey
Downtown Stevens Point became a Main Street Community in the middle of 2023 , netting the district access to priceless resources , including historic architectural design assistance , targeted business consultation programs , and district - wide economic development strategies . In the first year of the program , Downtown Stevens Point business and property owners accessed $22 , 550 worth of direct services and training opportunities , while the average Wisconsin community accessed only $13 , 725 .
“Downtown has taken small visible steps forward in the first year of the Business Improvement District , but we have also built a strong foundation . The upcoming visit by the WEDC and input we receive from our City will add to that foundation and help Downtown make even stronger strides in 2024 and beyond , ” says Chloe Kreuser , the new Downtown Manager .
Residents , business owners , and property owners who want to help enhance Downtown Stevens Point are encouraged to
fill out the survey
. Projects and programs will be designed using this input , professional expertise , and operating plans for the district .
