Hey everyone , just wanted to give you all an update on the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program . So , due to a bunch of stuff that happened on Saturday , including some crazy winter weather and a little glitch with the e - filing platform , we ' re extending the application deadline . You now have until Wednesday , January 17th to get your applications in . We ' ve already received a ton of applications over the past six months , but we want to make sure everyone has a fair chance to apply . You can submit your application by mail , in person at one of our offices , or online . Just make sure you meet the deadline for each method . Oh , and don ' t forget , all the info you need can be found at 22007apply . gov . Best part is , it doesn ' t cost a thing to apply and we have free technical assistance available . If you have any questions , you can call our hotline at 1 - 800 - 721 - 0970 . They ' ll be open on Sunday and Tuesday , and they ' ll have extended hours on Wednesday for online applications . After that , they ' ll be open until program payments are made . So , if you think you ' ve experienced discrimination based on race , nationality , gender , religion , or any of the other factors I mentioned , make sure to apply before the deadline . All you need to do for this program is fill out the application form . If your application is incomplete , we ' ll still consider the information you did provide . There ' s no need to worry about hearings , appeals , or any extra steps to apply . We recommend applying early so we can address any questions before the deadline .
