The Organization
:
Lucas County (“the County”) is in the Northwestern region of the State of Ohio, has a population of nearly 430,000 and is anchored by Toledo, OH, the county seat. Lucas County has an annual budget of $720 million (includes approximately $150MM General Fund) that comes from multiple sources. The primary revenue source is sales tax, which accounts for nearly 70%. The second largest source comes from property taxes. The County provides a variety of services to residents including the operation of the justice system, health and safety programs, economic and community development activities, social services, public works, and capital improvements.
The County has approximately 2800 employees (nearly 1600 employees represented by 5 unions) in multiple
