Sophie Puckett , Miss NEA’s Outstanding Teen and member of the Mayor ' s Youth Advancement Council stopped by Mayor Copenhaver ' s office to update him on Day of HOPE ,  which was declared this day , to recognize the men and women who served others in Jonesboro during its greatest time of need .
   She wanted to thank some of the many who help others in our community every day as part of her social impact initiative H . O . P . E . ( Helping Other People Every day ) . Sophie visited Families Inc . , Fire station #1 , #4 , #5 , the Police Department , and County Judge Marvin Day ' s office to thank them for helping in our community every day . She  distributed wristbands to bring awareness to the importance of helping others along with baked goods donated from Southern Confections and Kroger as a way to say thank you!
   Today , March 28th , marks two years since the EF3 tornado hit Jonesboro during the early stages of the COVID pandemic .
