Under the general direction of the Facility & Grounds Manager & Housekeeping Supervisor, the person in this position performs manual work in the custodial care and cleaning of building and premises. The job requires responsible use of proper cleaning methods and materials in performing these duties.

Responsibilities:
Assists with program set-up, clean up and securing of areas when not in use.
Responsible for daily sweeping, mopping and placement of safety signs when performing such duties.
Report necessary repairs and needed materials.
Collect and disperse refuse as necessary.
Daily sanitation of areas.
Vacuuming and dusting of areas on a daily basis.
Wiping down glass and walls as needed.
Clean and sanitize areas on as needed basis.
Any other duties as assigned by the Mayor or the Director of Recreation.
This position requires working nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) lbs. and be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Have the physical capability for sustained walking, standing, bending/stooping or climbing.
Ability to work with the public.
Ability to deliver and complete tasks assigned in a timely fashion
.
Ability to receive and deliver messages.
Ability to read and interpret chemical labels in relationship to their usage.
Experience as a custodian, working in public building desirable.
Requirements:
Current valid Ohio driver’s license.
Pre-employment drug testing and background check required.
Tools and Equipment Used:
This position may utilize the following tools and equipment: cleaning supplies and equipment, mechanical cleaning and scrubbing equipment, ladders, common hand and power tools, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radio, phone and basic computer skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
