Supervisor: Superintendent
Work Schedule: 40-hour work week
Salary: $28.00/hr. - $30.00/hr. based upon experience

PURPOSE AND DUTIES:
The Counselor, under the direction of the Superintendent, is responsible for overseeing all counseling and other mental health related services of the Washington County Juvenile Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Read the daily log before coming on duty.
Provide a minimum of one-hour weekly counseling sessions to all youth residing in Shelter Care or Program.
Provide one-hour weekly Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Anger Replacement Therapy (ART) in the group setting to female and male youth (separate).
Provide one 30-minute weekly Aftercare group to released youth, both female and male (separate).
Conduct daily review of youth daily logs to track youth behavior for treatment planning.
Conduct monthly Program Group Evaluation and review with staff individually.
Provide training as needed to staff.
Facilitate the Active Parenting for Teens class to court ordered parents.
Participate in team meetings and other youth meetings per request of Case Manager Staff.
Conduct monthly meeting with facility Psychiatrist, to discuss the youths’ mental health needs.
Develop treatment plans for individual youth, and prepare monthly treatment plan update document.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure from the State of Ohio as a licensed counselor (LPCC)or license independent social worker (LISW).
Valid driver’s license.
Pass criminal background check
