Community Development Director
Village of Sussex, WI
The Village of Sussex (population 11,487) is looking for an experienced or up and coming Community Development Director to help facilitate growth throughout the Village and to bolster the Village’s economic development efforts. The Community Development Director will lead a team charged with implementing the Village’s economic development, zoning code enforcement, land use planning, and building inspection functions. The incumbent will have the opportunity lead transformative projects and initiatives such as developing and implementing an economic development plan and will regularly interface with community and business leaders. Qualifications: The position requires graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in economic development, planning, or similar field. A master’s degree is preferred. Five years of progressively responsible work experience in a related position and supervisory experience is required. A comparable amount of work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Pay & Benefits: The starting annual salary is $85,000, or higher depending on qualifications. The Village’s benefit package is competitive and includes Wisconsin Retirement System, deferred compensation match, health and dental insurance, and support for professional development.
