The Village of McFarland has an immediate opening for the Communications Manager position within the Administration Department. The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing the communication needs of the Village including but not limited to:
Developing internal and external communication strategies;
Serving as the Village’s Public Information Officer (PIO);
Creating content for all means of communication;
Overseeing the Village’s social media presence;
Managing the Village’s newsletters and website; and,
Assisting in the coordination and promotion of Village and community engagement events.
This position also oversees the operations of McFarland’s local Public, Education, and Government (PEG) channel (WMCF), the provision of audio-visual and technical support to the village, and the recording of Village government and community meetings and events.
Minimum Requirements:
The qualified candidate will possess the following education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or closely related field.
Any combination of education and experience which in the sole discretion of the Village would demonstrate the ability to meet the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position may also be considered.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8
a.m.
to 4:30
p.m.
, with the ability to attend meetings or events in the evening or on weekends when needed.
Salary:
This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a starting annual pay range of $65,999 to $83,650 (depending on qualifications).
