Your Opportunity
This position will lead a team of two experienced professionals in the Clerk/Deputy Treasurer’s office. We offer the stability of a well-run smaller municipality, the Wisconsin Retirement System’s highly acclaimed retirement, health insurance benefits and other generous benefits.

Duties
Coordinate City offices and departments, except offices of the Mayor, Alderpersons, City Attorney, and the Waterloo Utilities.
Perform all statutory duties assigned to the City Clerk and/or as prescribed by the Mayor and Council.
Election Administration.
Keep the Mayor and the Council advised about developments in the City's administration, business, and affairs. Attend meetings as required by the Mayor and the Council. Stay informed on county, state and federal legislation and the availability of aids and funds and prepare and expedite applications for said funds.
Effectuate actions of the Council which require administrative action and report any problems or difficulties in connection therewith to the Mayor and the Council.
See that all City ordinances and resolutions are efficiently and equally administered.
Represent the City in intergovernmental and legislative functions as requested by the Mayor or the Council.
Keep a current and accurate account of the existence, location and condition of all assets owned and/or controlled by the City.
Human Resources.
Assists with Budgets and Tax Collections.
Act as purchasing officer for the City and formulate and place into operation any City-wide purchasing functions that would be economical and beneficial to the City.
See that all City property and personnel are properly protected by adequate insurance coverage.
Required or Preferred
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in public or business administration or an equivalent combination of experience, training, education, and management background.
Prior administrative, managerial, public relations and employee relations experience.
A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products required.
The ability to interact effectively with elected officials, community members, local leaders, and City staff.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to consistently display a calm and collected demeanor.
Public sector and customer service orientation emphasizing teaming work and willingness to step in and help others as needed to help accomplish organizational tasks.
Leadership and supervisory skills.
