With preparations under way to host the Big Game at Allegiant Stadium on the Las Vegas Strip , Clark County has launched an SMS text update system to provide commuters with alerts about Super Bowl - related road closures , lane restrictions and traffic impacts .
The public is encouraged to opt - in to the service by texting

. Those who sign up for the service will receive a text message on Sundays announcing traffic impacts so they can plan for the week ahead . Other reminders and updates may be sent during the week as needed .
“We are weeks away from hosting the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas . It is critical we keep our residents and visitors informed about scheduled road closures and other traffic and public transit impacts around Allegiant Stadium and the surrounding area , ” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft , who serves as chairman of the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee’s transportation sub - committee . “This service will be a great tool to alert motorists about impacts during the arrival of Super Bowl Week and the Big Game . ”
Partial lane restrictions and road closures are beginning to occur around the stadium . Some proposed closures are pending review and approval by Clark County’s Public Works Department . The proposed schedule is on the Super Bowl Host Committee’s website at

Due to the fluid nature of construction activity and traffic conditions , work schedules can change on short notice .
