City of Framingham Issuing Snow Emergency Parking Ban
FRAMINGHAM –
Forecasters are calling for a plowable snowstorm this weekend , the first major storm of 2024 .
Framingham Department of Public Works snow and ice preparations are already underway .
The National Weather Service Boson/Norton is calling for more than a half foot of snow for MetroWest and Framingham .
The City of Framingham will institute a snow emergency parking ban on all arterial roads beginning at midnight on Sunday , January 7 through midnight on Monday , January 8 .
A
rterial roads are designated with posted red and white signs .

This parking ban is in addition to the citywide year - round odd/even parking restriction on all streets . As 2024 , is an even year , parking is prohibited on the odd - side of roads .
Residents are encouraged to seek off - street parking and not interfere with snow clearing operations . Any vehicle obstructing snow clearing operations is subject to towing .
Due to the pending snowstorm , the Recycling Drop - Off Center will be closed to the public , Sunday , January 7 .
The National Weather Service , a federal agency , is also forecasting 35 to 40 mile per hour winds with this storm .
If you lose electricity , do not call 9 - 1 - 1 .

City plows must first clear all of the main roads , before they begin the residential streets . The City does not plow private roads .
If there is a medical emergency during the storm , please call 9 - 1 - 1 .
If it’s not an emergency , please be patient , your street will be plowed as quickly as possible .
