Crews continue on - the - ground clean up efforts , including parks and trails
The City of Charlottetown Emergency Measures team and EMO partners remain on the ground as community recovery and clean up efforts continue over the weekend . Work crews are dedicated to fallen and damaged municipal tree clean up , including parks and trails , along with residential tree debris pick up . Residents are advised to continue to use caution in parks and on trails as clean up efforts will continue for several days .
As a r......eminder , open burning is not permitted in Charlottetown . Again today , there is a continued focus on the areas with damaged trees that require multiple EMO partners to address and resolve the matter .
Debris Pick Up and Drop Off
Where possible and it’s safe to do so , residents are encouraged to cut tree branches into pieces that are four ( 4 ) feet in length or shorter and place them next to the roadway . To assist with the clean up efforts , pieces that are wider than 10 inches in diameter should be cut down into pieces that are two ( 2 ) feet in length or shorter . As a reminder , please do not pile other garbage or debris with the tree branches and stumps as this will slow down the clean up efforts as they are not part of the tree debris pick up . Public Works crews are picking up the tree debris , however due to volume , this work will continue for several days .
The province has provided information on debris drop - off options for post - Fiona cleanup . For more information ,
The City has reopened three Reception Centres in order to provide some comforts such as Wi - Fi , municipal water ( bring your own drinking container ) , small snacks and power to charge personal devices .
