December 29 , 2023 – 
   The Midland City Clerk’s Office began mailing Presidential primary ballot selection forms on December 22 to registered voters who had previously requested to be on the Permanent Ballot Mailing List .  
   Michigan Election Law requires that voters indicate in writing which political party ballot they wish to vote . This requirement only applies to Presidential primary elections , and voters will not be required to select a political party ballot type in other elections .  
   Voters who receive the Presidential primary ballot selection form should complete and return it no later than January 18 , 2024 to the Clerk’s Office 333 W . Ellsworth Street , Midland , MI 48640 via the enclosed postage paid envelope , in person , or by depositing it into one of the City’s three official ballot drop boxes:
   Midland City Hall 333 W . Ellsworth Street ( near the Larkin Street entrance )
   Barstow Airport 6603 Barstow Drive ( near the administration office )
   Midland Civic Arena 405 Fast Ice Drive ( near the west side driveway )  
   Voters who are not on the Permanent Ballot Mailing List may obtain an absentee ballot by submitting an application by mail to the Midland City Clerk’s Office , 333 W . Ellsworth Street , Midland , MI 48640; or via email to
   clerk@midland - mi . org
    . Voters can find a request form for an absentee ballot form at
   www . michigan . gov/voteor by contacting the Clerk’s Office .  
   Ballots are expected to be available January 18 , 2024 .  
   Following the passage of Proposal 3 , all registered Michigan voters are now eligible to vote by absentee ballot for any reason in any election . For questions or more information on obtaining an absentee ballot , visit
