CPD Seeks Assistance Locating Suspect
CHARLOTTESVILLE , VA -
At approximately 12:02 PM on January 3rd , Charlottesville Police officers were dispatched to the University of Virginia Emergency Room ( UVA ER ) to investigate a reported stabbing . The victim has been identified as adult male Charlottesville resident , Walter Jones . Mr . Jones suffered non - life - threatening injuries and was able to walk into the UVA ER under his own power . The incident is believed to have occurred sometime this morning in the 900 block of West Street . Detectives responded to the UVA ER and West Street to investigate further . At this time , this is believed to be an isolated incident . The suspect is described as a tall black male in his early to mid - 60’s wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident .
