BUDGET ANALYST
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the County Auditor and Chief Deputy Auditor, conducts a variety of technical functions involving the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the San Juan County budget; conducts budget analyses; prepares and analyzes revenue projections; prepares budget reports; prepares budget amendments; provides budgetary support to County departments; and performs other related duties as assigned. Assists with capital projects management and with cash flow management and projection.
SENIOR BUDGET ANALYST
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the County Auditor, provides responsible and professional direction of the County’s budget process. Coordinates the organization and activities required to develop and present to the County Council fiscally sound operating and capital budgets for the County, ensuring that the budgets are developed, balanced, monitored, controlled and modified in accordance with state law and County policies. Produces periodic revenue forecasts, cash flow analyses, and other assistance to the County Council. In addition, analyzes compensation and benefit options for union and non-represented groups, for current and future financial impact to the County, presenting findings and recommendations to the Council and designated negotiation teams. Reviews and analyzes collective bargaining agreements and employee polices for inclusion in the proposed budgets.
