   Avondale Observes Martin Luther King Jr . Day
    
   Avondale city facilities will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr . Day holiday on Monday , January 15 , 2024 .
    
   Affected facilities include City Hall , City Court , Avondale Public Libraries , Avondale Resource Center , Visitor and Conference Center , and the Community Center , along with administrative offices at Public Works and Public Safety .
    
   While city facilities will be closed , there will be NO CHANGES to trash/solid waste or bulk pick - up schedules .
    
   Valley Metro bus will be operating on a weekday schedule .   There will be no RAPID/Express bus service or WeRIDE microtransit operating on this day .
