RESPONSIBILITIES: Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for thousands of boaters each year. Collect fees and maintain turnover on five transient moorings. Daily patrols of our 30 miles of coastline. Supply “Good Samaritan” support to an increasing number of boaters. Enforce Town Ordinances. Maintain radio contact with Police Department and monitor marine radio traffic. Work closely with the North Kingstown Fire Department and other agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS: Coast Guard license desired. Seamanship skills: boat handling, search and rescue, rigging, maintenance, etc. Knowledge of Town’s harbor ordinances, and State and Federal boating, navigation rules and regulations. Ability to establish working relationship with public. CPR and First Aid certifications highly recommended. Confidentiality with department-related information. Completion of a thorough and extensive background investigation
Part-Time Seasonal, 10-15 Hours per week, May through October. Must be able to work weekends.
