Delta County is accepting applications for the position of Assistant County Attorney. Under the general direction of the County Attorney, the successful candidate will perform a variety of complex administrative, technical and professional legal services. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal services for the Department of Human Services in the areas of child protection, child support and adult protection; and, to a lesser extent, providing legal services to other County officials and County departments.
Requirements:
Juris doctorate degree from accredited United States law school.
Experience:
Two (2) years general and/or litigation practice experience with emphasis in municipal or county government preferred. Trial experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current and valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Active and valid State of Colorado Law License.
Salary Range:
$71,258 to $85,526 per year dependent upon experience.

Life insurance and employee only medical insurance is available at no cost to the employee. We have a pre-tax flexible spending account. Employees contribute 4% of salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year. We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling.
