The Park & Recreation Department of the Village of Lake Zurich is seeking candidates for the position of Aquatics Gate Guard. The Village of Lake Zurich provides Gate Guards at two beaches on Lake Zurich at Paulus Park and Breezewald Park. The Gate Guard is responsible for patron entrance to the beach facility and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Position Responsibilities
: Performs a variety of routine clerical, administrative, and financial work by receiving payments from customers for the payment of goods or services received.
Treats public and staff respectfully and in a positive manner.
Regulates the conduct of patrons to prevent unsafe practices or accidents.
Processes cash and credit card transactions by verifying cardholder information recording amounts received and prepares reports of transactions after each shift. Accurate accountability of cash control.
Helps enforce policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of bathers using the facility.
Participates in preparation of daily records relations to the CPR/AED, first aid, weather conditions and sanitation as may be required by the Beach Manager.
Performs assistance and appropriate follow up procedures including the use of any available equipment in the performance of first aid.
Attends mandatory weekly in-service training; or, if unable to attend, responsible for getting information that was missed and knowing that information.
Notifies Supervisor when supplies or materials are needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for covering any missed shifts due to sickness or vacation.
