   JOB SUMMARY:
   This is a group position in the Airport Department of the Public Service/Airport Administration and is under the direct supervision of the Airport Supervisor.  The incumbent is responsible to perform technical duties in support of Airport operations, support parking of incoming aircraft at the terminal area, fuel and service aircraft and perform ground maintenance activities.
    
    
   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    
   *
           
   Perform technical duties in support of Airport operations; participate in the parking of incoming aircraft at the terminal area; provide radio communication with pilots; meet incoming aircraft; instruct aircraft where to park.
   *
           
   Fuel and service parked aircraft; fuel aircraft to appropriate level requested; check and add aircraft oil as needed. 
   *
           
   Participate in grounds maintenance activities for the airport; mow lawns; pull weeds; irrigate plants and lawns; plant trees and shrubs.
   *
           
   Inspect the airfield for hazardous materials on runway, taxiways and parking lots; maintain airfield safety.
   *
           
   Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment including fuel trucks, lawn mowers, weed eaters, and a variety of hand and power tools.
   *
           
   Perform preventive maintenance activities on fuel trucks and grounds maintenance equipment.
   *
           
   Perform light maintenance on Airport facilities.
   *
           
   Maintain accurate log and records of work performed; prepare monthly report of work activities.
   *
           
   Perform cleaning activities of the terminal building and immediate area.
   *
           
   Use good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly.
   *
           
   Work outdoors in temperature of heat (100+) and cold freezing and inclement weather.
   *
           
   Carry, hold and lift 40 pounds; climbing, stooping and reaching daily.
   *
           
   Exposure to dust, noise, fumes, gases, Jet A-Fuel and aviation oil products.
   OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
    
   *
           
   Aid in Airport security and be able to work on different shifts.
   *
           
   Maintain appropriate uniform appearance and personal hygiene.
   *
           
   Perform basic office functions including answering the telephone, operating a cash register, and performing basic record keeping.
   *
           
   Perform related duties as required.
   REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSE:
    
   High School diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Texas Driver's license and a good driving record.
   EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    
   Two years of increasingly responsible experience in airport maintenance and aircraft fueling activities.  Knowledge of airport regulations and procedures; aircraft fueling systems; radio communication techniques and equipment; grounds maintenance techniques.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
   STARTING SALARY
    $ 13.82 
   Hour .
