Winters in Minnesota can be cold and snowy . We received more than 90 inches of snow in 2023 .  
   If there is an emergency in your neighborhood , could firefighters locate the closest fire hydrant?
   Chances are you know where they are and can help maintain access to them . We ask community members to clear snow and ice 3 feet around fire hydrants and clear a path to the street . This will allow firefighters to focus on fire department operations during emergencies when ever second is critical .
