City of Milford
Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000
GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION
The Administrative Associate will have high-level office responsibilities including grant writing and research, marketing, special events coordination, government contract/lease management, public utility collection assistance, information technology collaboration, records request/retention, health insurance administration, and public policy / operational procedures development
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field, or a combination of education and experience as it relates to the position
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Research grant opportunities, prepare grant applications for projects deemed beneficial to the City; plan direct, and supervise grant-related activities (i.e. ODNR Recycle, Ohio grants)Research, develop and coordinate activities on a variety of subjects and issues as assigned
· Assist with the development of new policies and procedures (investigate current practices, identify necessary components, account for internal working relationships)
· Develop improved systems, procedures, and forms to improve the efficiency of City operations (., research and identify current practices and weaknesses, design improvements to eliminate weaknesses, develop implementation procedures, troubleshoot to assure optimization)
· Edit and produce City newsletter (receive, review, and edit copy as needed; relate with the publisher to assure reasonable turnaround and compliance with expected publication dates; seek and author articles as needed)
· Design, write, edit, proofread, update, and publish City communications including print, video, and digital media publications such as media releases, City website content, social media content, posters/flyers
· Organize City special events and coordinate/collaborate with other non-City organizations for outside events either co-sponsored or supported by the City
· Provide support assistance with the Finance Department with Community Reinvestment Area
(CRA), residential and business trash collection/recycling, permits, and public utility collection
· Coordinate IT (Information Technology) for the City including computer network/server, phones/telecommunications, email accounts, and other City-owned electronic properties
· Serve as the accident and safety review coordinator and handle Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) claims for the City
· Serve as the health insurance benefits coordinator and liaison
· Coordinate the City’s Tree City program and assist with the City’s Tree Rebate Program
· Monitor lease agreements and contract analysis
· Implement and maintain employee safety and random drug testing programs
· Assist the Clerk of Council with public records requests and committee minutes
· Perform other related duties as assigned
PREFERRED SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
