This is a responsible position that performs a variety of administrative and support functions to assist the Department Director or their Designee in the administration of a major organizational unit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of business English; spelling; math; standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Proficient in computer applications, including
Microsoft Office
.
Skilled or ability to become proficient in the use of the Sunguard Public Sector Naviline system.
Ability to acquire knowledge of departmental practices, City Rules and Regulations, and departmental directives and make decisions in accordance with same.
Ability to understand and carry-out complex verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Training, Certification, and Experience
High School Diploma or GED preferably supplemented by advance secretarial or office management courses and three years experience in responsible administrative work.
Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
Ability to accurately type a minimum of 50 words per minute (12,500 keystrokes per hour).
Valid Florida driver’s license.
The City of Temple Terrace is a drug-free workplace.
A pre-employment drug screen, criminal history background investigation, and a driver’s license verification may be conducted.
