Loudoun County Virginia - Accidental Fire Destroys Purcellville Barn and Injures One Firefighter 05 October 2022 ( news )

One firefighter injured and transported to the hospital during response to a barn fire in Purcellville . No other individuals or animals were reported injured .
At 7:58 a . m . , Tuesday , October 4 , 2022 , the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a barn on fire in the 18000 block of Silcott Springs Road in Purcellville . Loudoun County Fire and Rescue units from Purcellville , Philomont , Round Hill , and Hamilton fire stations were dispatched .
......; Fire and rescue crews arrived on the scene to find an approximately 100 feet by 40 feet barn on fire . Firefighters extinguished the fire within 90 minutes and remained on the scene to perform salvage and overhaul operations .
The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office investigation determined that the fire was accidental , caused by an unspecified electrical event from wiring exposure on the second floor of the barn . The damages to the barn and its contents are estimated at $401 , 280 . Fortunately , no residents were displaced and there are no reported injuries to residents or animals . One firefighter received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital .
