In partnership with the National Youth Poet Laureate Program , Urban Word , and Daly City Public Library , the program celebrates teen poets who live or attend school in Daly City and exhibit a commitment to artistic excellence , civic engagement , leadership , and social justice .  
   The Daly City Youth Poet Laureate Receives:
   $2 , 500 honorarium 
   VIP status to represent Daly City at community events between May 2024 and May 2025
   Valuable credential to add to college and job descriptions
   All program applicants are provided opportunities to be mentored by accomplished adult poets from around San Mateo County
