2022 Seasonal Positions:
Streets and Water Department
This labor position includes assisting in the repair and maintenance of public property, facilities and equipment; requires working outdoors in all kinds of weather. Seasonal laborers assist in repairing streets, pot hole repair, painting, mowing, and assisting Water crew with sewer jetting. The position may involve working various hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be at least 17 yrs old, must have valid driver's license
; starting wage:
$10.00/hour
Landfill Seasonal
Assists landfill staff at the Municipal Landfill building and grounds with general trash and waste disposal, ground and equipment maintenance. Works under the supervision of the Landfill Foreman. The position may involve working various hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be at least 17 yrs old, must have valid driver's license
; starting wage:
$10.00/hour
Cemetery and Parks Maintenance Workers
The position is an entry level seasonal position that performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work involving grounds, buildings and equipment in any or all of the Park Divisions; may be required to perform heavy manual labor to assist in the repair and maintenance of public property and facilities; and performs related work as required; will be required to work out of doors in all kinds of weather. The position involves working various hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be at least 16 yrs old, must have valid driver's license
; starting wage:
$9.00/hour
Golf Course Grounds Maintenance
Performs semi-skilled maintenance work involving the care and upkeep of the Skyview Golf Course and grounds surrounding it and the equipment/machinery involved; will work outdoors in all kinds of weather and perform heavy manual work. The position involves working various hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Golf Pro Shop Workers
Love golf? Apply to work in our Golf Pro Shop this summer! Duties include collecting fees, cart rentals, merchandise stocking and sales with an emphasis on customer service. May include evenings and weekends.

Electric SCADA Laborer
Selected candidate will work under the supervision of the SCADA operator to assist in performing minor semi-skilled monitoring and operational tasks related to the SCADA system, the computer system used to monitor electrical load and use. Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver’s License.

Carhenge Laborer
Meet people from all over the world in this position! The individual selected will work in the Carhenge gift shop, assisting with merchandise stocking and sales. Will also help maintain facilities with some indoor and outdoor labor such as cleaning, painting, and mowing. Includes working various hours and shifts and may include evenings, weekends or holidays.

Lifeguards
Do you love the water? Lifeguards are hired to oversee the safe operation of the Big Blue Bay by enforcing and following policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of patrons and staff; assists with the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities and equipment during the time in which activities are taking place. Prior certification not required! New lifeguards will be trained and certified. The position involves working various hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Starting wage:
$9.00/hour
Pool Admissions and Concessions
Assists with a variety of activities in the daily operations of the Big Blue Bay Swimming Pool. Assists with the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and equipment during the time in which activities are taking place. The Clerk follows established procedures and attends in-service training. The position involves working various hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Starting wage:
$9.00/hour
Red Cross Swim Instructors
This individual will work 4-5 hours, Monday through Saturday mornings for about 10 weeks during the swim season. Responsibilities include instructing all swim lesson participants and evaluating students participating in swim lessons. Rate of pay will be dependent on experience. The City will cover the cost of certification for selected candidates who do not already possess Red Cross certification.
Museum Clerk
This individual will assist museum staff on several projects involving the history of the City of Alliance and Box Butte County, greet visitors to the museum and assist patrons with research in the Heritage Room. Will gain experience in customer service and general office work. Must maintain high level of responsibility; have a pleasant and service-oriented demeanor and pays close attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proficiency in computer software applications a plus! (See the attached job description for Museum Clerk for details on this position.)
