   Beginning Wednesday , May 18 , contractor crews will conduct rehabilitation work on manholes in the north shoulder of Main Avenue W . between 9
   th
    Street NW and 12
   th
    Street NW . The road will reduce to one westbound lane through June 5 while this work is completed .  
   This work is part of the rehabilitation of the
   northside regional sanitary sewer collector system
    , which is a capital improvement project . The majority of wastewater throughout the City flows through this system so maintaining its integrity is extremely important . This project is one of the highest priority among active projects in the capital improvement plan .
   Motorists may encounter delays during commute times and should adjust their travel plans . Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed , space and stress .
