US Department of Labor announces additional partners to deliver employment assistance to transitioning service members , spouses WASHINGTON – The U . S . Department of Labor today announced its Veterans’ Employment and Training Service has signed a memorandum of understanding with seven organizations to serve as partners in support of VETS’ Employment Navigator and Partnership Pilot . With these partners added , there will be 16 partners aligned with the agency’s initiative . The pilot provides one - on - one career assistance to transitioning service members and their spouses at select military installations worldwide . This assistance is a complement to the department’s Transition Assistance Program’s classroom instruction . VETS selected experienced organizations with a proven capability in providing employment and training services to transitioning service members and their spouses . Partner organizations’ support services will include the following: Apprenticeship opportunities . Hiring events . Digital matching of skills and experiences . Employment mentorship and networking with organizations committed to employing veterans . Employment referrals and placement . Workforce training . Wraparound services within communities for additional support . Employment Navigators are located at 18 military installations worldwide to provide one - on - one employment assistance to transitioning service members and their spouses . To aid their specific transition needs , Employment Navigators connect individuals with partner organizations for additional employment servicesThe approved partners are DiverseNote Mobility in Detroit; FASTPORT Inc . in Valparaiso , Indiana; Onward to Opportunity in Syracuse , New York; Mt . Carmel Veterans Service Center in Colorado Springs , Colorado; Skills for L . I . F . E . Foundation in Lawton , Oklahoma; Transition Overwatch in San Francisco; and Vector Force Development in Collinsville , Illinois .
