River Road ( Route 650 ) between Blair Road in Goochland and Gaskins Road in Henrico will be closed to through traffic beginning at 8 a . m . Thursday , April 28 in Henrico for Henrico County Department of Public Utilities utility work .
   They expect the closure to remain in effect through 5 p . m . Friday , April 29 , weather permitting .  The detour below will direct traffic around the work zone via Blair , Patterson Avenue , and Gaskins .  No disruption of water or sewer service is expected in either Goochland County or Henrico County .
   The closure is in Henrico County . Drivers are advised to use the following posted detour route: 
   From Goochland County
    
   – Take Blair Rd . ( Rt . 649 ) north to Patterson Ave . ( Rt . 6 ) east to Gaskins Rd . south back to River Rd .  
   From Henrico County
    
   – Take Gaskins Rd . north to Patterson Ave . ( Rt . 6 ) west to Blair Rd . ( Rt . 649 ) south back to River Rd .
