☷HUD Awards $25 Million to Stabilize Public Housing Agencies Facing Financial Shortfalls

Hey , guess what? The U . S . Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ) just gave out $25 million to 157 public housing agencies ( PHAs ) that are struggling financially or at risk of doing so . This funding , called the Public Housing Operating Fund Shortfall , will help these PHAs keep serving their residents while they work on becoming financially stable in the long run . Fudge , it ' s important to support these agencies so they can fully assist households and families with HUD assistance . Richard Monocchio , from HUD ' s Public and Indian Housing division , added that the funds will help stabilize PHAs and ensure that they can maintain safe and decent public housing . HUD will be working closely with these agencies to address the reasons behind their financial shortfalls and find strategies to improve their stability .
