Young Canada Works program, commencing July 05, 2022 - August 27, 2022
The Wetaskiwin Public Library is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and creative student to join our team this summer to assist with our Summer Reading Club. We want to bring the love of reading to our whole community this summer and help inspire lifelong learning. The program’s theme this year is “Once Upon a Time: Myths and Legends”.
Work Terms:
Temporary: July 05, 2022 to August 27, 2022
35 hours per week
Salary: $16 per hour
Requirements:
This is a Young Canada Works (YCW) position. To qualify, candidates must have the following requirements:
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada
Note:
Non-Canadian students or graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible for this position
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Meet the specific eligibility criteria of the program to which you apply
Be registered in the YCW online candidate inventory
Must have completed Grade 12 and be enrolled in post secondary studies in the fall
Intend to return to studies during or after the YCW work assignment
Be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment
Not have another full-time job during the YCW work assignment
Overview:
This is an eight-week term position giving the student customer services experience in a creative team environment. About two-thirds of the position time will be spent with the Children’s Program Coordinator, actively planning and facilitating the Summer Reading Club. The other duties will include customer and information services, and basic library tasks.
