   A private contractor will close the westbound lane of 7th Avenue E . just east of its intersection with 9th Street E Wednesday , June 22 , through Thursday , June 23 . Crews will be conducting utility work in and around a manhole approximately 50 feet east of the intersection . Westbound traffic will detour to 10th Street E . during the closure .  
    
   If you encounter working crews , slow down and keep a safe distance between your vehicle and construction workers and equipment . Follow all posted signs , barricades , and lights and obey the posted speed limit . Drivers should remain alert and focused on the road by minimizing distractions , such as cellphones . Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed , space and stress .
