This is a skilled supervisory position that requires knowledge of SEAPLANE BASE, FBO, and Marina operations, team building, organizational and management skills.  This position consists of practical responsibility for operations and development of the Tavares Seaplane Base & Marina, all aviation-related activity and facilities including but not limited to; the FBO, airport terminal building, airport fueling, air passenger service support, aircraft operations, aviation, and non-aviation related special events, fly-ins, etc. and all related responsibilities including the marina and adjacent park and off-site locations. This position reports directly to the Waterfront Operations Manager.  
   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
   1.    Serves as the supervisor of operations of the Tavares Seaplane Base, Marina and all related aviation and non-aviation facilities and activities and is responsible for overseeing all operations and activities under the direct supervision of the Waterfront Operations Manager.  
   2.    Interacts with the public, related agencies, City departments, supervisors, and coworkers in a positive, professional, and courteous manner at all times.
   3.    Communicates all waterfront related activities, liabilities, & customer concerns to the Waterfront Operations Manager.
   4.    Coordinate, manage and oversee all airport, marina, splash park and related operations as directed by the Waterfront Operations Manager.
   5.    Oversees aircraft ramp operations and staff line service functions.
   6.    Oversees aviation and marina fuel quality assurance program.
   7.    Conducts employee performance appraisals and performance counseling for direct reports.
   8.    Prepares employee weekly work schedule for all waterfront and splash park operations staff.
   9.    Enforces all airport & marina rules and regulations relating to public use, outside contractors, and staff.
   10.    Orders supplies as approved by Waterfront Operations Manager.
   11.    Oversees aircraft and dockage reservations.
   12.    Oversees airport and marina contractual work as requested by the Waterfront Operations Manager.
   13.    Responds to all customer concerns promptly.
   14.    Interacts with the public, related agencies, City departments, supervisors, & coworkers professionally & courteously at all times.
   15.    Operates airport FBO and marine service station and sells fuel (aviation and recreational gasoline).
   16.    FBO/Prop Shop storekeeping, including the sale of oil, ice, and other store merchandise.
   17.    Responsible for credit card charges and cash sales, which may involve a substantial amount of money.
   18.    Assists in maintaining adequate FBO/Prop Shop inventory levels.
   19.    Responds to inquiries from the public regarding rates and charges, rules and regulations, information about the airport and marina facility, as well as the nearby surrounding area.
   20.    Monitor Unicom & VHF marine radio to remain in contact with aircraft/boaters respond to their inquiries.
   21.    Follows safety, customer service, money handling, and problem-solving procedures.
   22.    Assigns dock space, registers customers, collects fees, and maintains daily records.
   23.    Assists boat owners in docking, securing dock lines, electrical and water connections.
   24.    Performs litter control functions; cleans restrooms; provides support services to Splash park; set up picnic and other areas

   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
      
   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
   1.    Knowledge and ability to manage an airport, aircraft apron FBO & marina operations & liabilities, such as storm preparations, slip management, fuel spill handling, hazardous waste, aircraft & boat fires, Splash Park & Ship Store operations, aircraft & boat fueling, public safety & security.
   2.    Ability to be on call 24 hours a day on an as-needed basis.
   3.    Ability to work under pressure and in adverse conditions.
   4.    Ability to receive and follow directions.
   5.    Ability to communicate effectively with City staff and the public.
   6.    Ability to anticipate and respond to issues and concerns of FA1 staff, City staff, City administration, and the public in an effective, prompt, and courteous manner.
   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
   1.    Associates degree in Aviation, Public Administration, Business Management, or related field.
   2.    Airport/FBO operations or related operations experience preferred.
   3.    Marina operations and maintenance experience preferred.
   4.    Experience with management or education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and ability.
   (A comparable amount of training, education, or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
   LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
   1.    Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license
   2.    CPR and First Aid certifications (training is provided to employees if needed)
   3.    Bonded in the State of Florida, or eligible to be bonded in the State of Florida
   ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
   •    Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
   •    Acceptable hearing (without hearing device)
   •    Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
   •    Sufficient manual dexterity to develop skill in the operation of point of sale computer system
   •    Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a point of sale computer
   •    Walking, reaching, stretching, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping
   •    Lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds unassisted, using proper lifting and safety procedures; lifting and carrying up to 150 pounds assisted, using proper lifting and safety procedures
   •    Ability to stand for extended periods
   ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
   •    Works inside and outside, in various wind and weather conditions.
   •    Exposure to fuel vapors.
   •    Work schedule includes all days of the week, specifically weekends, all hours, and all shifts; as well as during storms and holidays.
