Washington County Public Health (WIC Program) is currently accepting applications for
WIC Nutrition Aide
*. This position exists in the Public Health Service, assigned to the WIC program, and involves responsibility performing a variety of clerical and non-professional public information tasks in support of the women’s, infants, and children’s supplemental food program. Employees in the class disseminate nutritional information regarding diet planning, food selection, storage and handling to pregnant and nursing women and their children who may be nutritional risks. Incumbents are required to complete an in-service training program in aspects of basic nutrition and related public information techniques which requires no previous training or experience. The work is performed under direct supervision of a WIC Nutritionist. Does related work as required.
*This is a Civil Service Competitive position. Provisional appointee must take a future-dated exam and be reachable on the resulting Eligible List.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma and either:
(a) One year of clerical experience; OR
(b) One year of experience in a non-professional position
supporting social services or public health programs in a public or private agency.
RATE OF PAY
: $17.42/hour (2021 rate)
