Clay County Public Health Center seeks candidates for the position of full-time Volunteer Specialist.
The Volunteer Specialist recruits and trains volunteers and interns, plans, organizes, and directs volunteer activities for regular work days and for public health emergencies. The Specialist also maintains a risk communication plan for calling in volunteers during public health emergencies.
Position Status
: Full-time employee. This position is eligible for a partial remote work schedule following a six-month training period.
Duties Include:
Plans, develops and implements volunteer and intern recruitment programs for school districts, universities, civic groups, businesses and the community at large
Develops and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies
Promotes volunteer and internship discussions with local public health system (LPHS) partners including schools, industry, and community agencies
Plans for and provides educational opportunities for volunteers and interns
Coordinates professional staff as required by grant programs
Develops and submits monthly status reports for the volunteer program
Assists the Epidemiology Program with data entry and management
Assists Emergency Preparedness and the Community Development Program with meeting support
Assists with other office administrative duties as assigned
Maintains accurate, organized work records, documents and files
Proactively provides feedback for improvements that improve quality, efficiency, cost savings, productivity, systems, and/or procedures
Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Reports for special assigned duties during a public health emergency, if applicable
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree in community health or related field is required. Education may be substituted by three years of related experience.
Excellent communication and computer skills are required
Good working knowledge of community based planning and experience in graphic arts and marketing is a plus
A current driver’s license and auto insurance is required
