   Qualifications
   Must possess high school diploma or GED.  Valid Class “E” Florida Driver’s License required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required; excellent interpersonal skills required.  Knowledge of business English and math required.  A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be considered by the City as a substitute for the minimum qualifications.
   General Description
   Responsible for all meter reading, and reporting.
   Essential Functions
   1.
       
   Daily reading of meters and documentation of various items including over-reads, verification of readings, meters not found, damaged or hard to read meters, new and removed meters and other problems as addressed.
   2.
       
   Prepare daily report sheet for each meter book read.
   3.
       
   Indicate by folding the meter book page each account that must be estimated or needs to be re-read and prepare list of these accounts.
   4.
       
   Stamp meter book with reading dates of all off meters and mark as off in the consumption bracket.
   5.
       
   Clean meters, stamp meter book and check readings during days when only a portion of the 8 hour day is required for meter reading.
   6.
       
   Professionally and courteously respond to all customer inquiries as appropriate.
   7.
       
   Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
   8.
       
   Attend and participate in administrative meetings as required
   9.
       
   Read and interpret manuals to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
   10.
       
   Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
   11.
       
   Other duties as assigned.
   Essential Physical Skills
   Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with/without correction), walking, sitting, standing, driving.  Ability to communicate (oral and written).  Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
   Environmental Conditions
   Works inside and outside in various weather conditions.  Works in or with moving objects.
