Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Investigating Potential Illicit Discharge within Walnut Creek Channel
    ( Updated ) May 20 , 2022 , Walnut Creek , CA – On Thursday , May 19 , 2022 , the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District ( District ) removed the potential illicit discharge within the Walnut Creek Channel that was reported on May 9 , 2022 . The discharge was located north of Civic Park in the City of Walnut Creek , near Civic Drive and Arroyo Way . The District has been coordinating with Kinder Morgan and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District who have facilities in the area . They conducted their own tests to exclude their facilities as the source of the discharge . The District will continue to monitor this area for any reoccurrence
