   The Town of Vinton  celebrated Arbor Day at Roanoke County Public Library ' s Vinton branch today with students from Thrasher Preschool and special guests from the Virginia Department of Forestry . Stories , songs and crafts stressed the importance of trees in our world . The Mayor Grose read a proclamation and celebrated the recent planting of trees along Washington Ave , contributing to the town ' s 20th Tree City USA designation from the Arbor Day Foundation .
