Town Hall Update June 2
In this Town Hall Update Arlington Town Manager , Adam Chapdelaine reports that residents should start seeing the Republic Services blue trucks as they begin to take over trash/recycling collection from JRM . He also provides an update to ARPA funded programs for businesses and tenant/homeowner’s assistance , and gives kudos to outgoing Library Director , Andrea Nicolay .

Town Announces New Recycling and Trash Contractor
Residents to start seeing Republic Services trucks starting June 2
The Town of Arlington is pleased to welcome Republic Services as the Town ' s new recycling and trash contractor . Beginning today , June 2nd , Arlington residents may notice blue Republic trucks alongside JRM trucks , and many of their employees dressed in blue and yellow Republic uniforms . As Republic learns and adjust their routes , collection times during the day may vary , so be sure to have your items on the curb no later than 7:00 a . m . on your collection day . Transformative Grant Program for Businesses and Nonprofits
June 7 application deadline approaching .
The Transformative Growth Grants Program is accepting applications from Arlington businesses and nonprofit organizations that have a vision for their future and are seeking financial support to bring that vision to life . The program will provide grants to businesses and nonprofit organizations that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID - 19 , including restaurants and food service businesses; arts , entertainment , and the creative economy; tourism and recreation; personal care and beauty salons; wellness and fitness; childcare; nonprofits serving populations disproportionately impacted by COVID - 19; and small - scale retail . Town Still Accepting Pre - Applications for Rental and Mortgage Assistance
$1 , 000 , 000 in federal funding will support households in need .
The Town of Arlington is continuing to accept pre - applications for the Arlington Tenant - Homeowner Assistance Fund . Assistance up to $2 , 500 per month is available to Arlington households that rent or own their home and have had difficulty making rent or mortgage payments due to the impacts of the COVID - 19 pandemic . Translations and reasonable accommodations are available . Households may submit a pre - application and learn more at

Director of Libraries Andrea Nicolay Announces Departure
Arlington’s Director of Libraries , Andrea Nicolay , has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Albany Public Library in Albany , NY . Her last day in Arlington will be Friday , July 1 . In her nearly ten years in Arlington , she increased access to library resources by eliminating fines and rental fees , adding summer Saturday hours in July and August , and securing municipal funding for Sunday hours among her many accomplishments .
