The Town of North Kingstown RI seeks an experienced Civil Engineer for the North Kingstown Department of Public Works.  The Engineer is responsible for administrative and professional functions relating to planning and directing of engineering activities in Town.
    A successful candidate will have the ability to plan, coordinate and supervise field engineering activities; prepare plans and specifications for public works construction; administer contract provisions and supervise field inspection of public works construction; supervise preparation of construction cost estimates and maintenance of the Tax Assessor’s plat maps; will provide technical review for the Planning Commission, and Planning, Building, and Water Supply Departments; attends evening Town Board, Commission and Council meetings as necessary.
                                  Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 5 to 8 years’ experience in private and public design and review of subdivisions and land development projects.  Minimum of 3 years municipal experience preferred.  Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Rhode Island required.  Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and inspect engineering division’s activities; ability to prepare technical reports. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge and experience with wastewater systems and Rhode Island environmental regulations preferred.
    
   Salary:  83,000-91,200 plus benefits.
